She sold 20,000 orders off one viral TikTokThe biggest Etsy headlines, seller wins, and platform changes — May 21, 2025 edition

This week on Etsy Pulse: We’re breaking down how one creator turned her viral TikTok videos into 20,000+ orders, spotlighting a shop that hit $500K in sales, and digging into Etsy’s latest updates that could shake up your listings. Plus, smart tips for prepping your shop for summer and the product category that’s heating up fast. Let’s get into it →

From TikTok to 20,000 Sales

Liz Fox Roseberry didn’t wait for a PR team or a product launch strategy—she just started posting videos of herself making wire-wrapped earring jackets. Her TikTok (@foxcraftcustom) blew up, and suddenly her Etsy shop was flooded. Nearly 20,000 orders later, she’s built a full-blown business with a team of five, including her husband who left his job to join the ride.

The kicker? She didn’t use ads or giveaways, just consistent behind-the-scenes content, solid keywords, and a product people couldn’t scroll past. Her listings were Etsy-ready, she linked her TikTok in her shop bio, and she used “As seen on TikTok” like a CTA. Even Lily Collins ended up wearing her earrings in Emily in Paris. Not bad for a wire and pliers hustle.

The Takeaway: People are HUNGRY to buy products from small businesses (you) rather than massive corporations. They want to see the little guy win, and they love a damn good story. Record everything. Take pictures of everything. Share your feelings on social media and with your friends. Even if they’re negative! The struggle and grind of entrepreneurship and craftsmanship is something we are attracted to at the human level. Take advantage of that and share your story with the world, no matter how many followers you have.

Etsy Updates, Decoded for Sellers

🔍 Spring 2025 Seller Tools Update

What’s Happening: Etsy dropped a major Spring update: faster photo uploads with built‑in editing tools, real‑time listing quality feedback in beta, improved Shop Manager layout, and easier access to Support and third‑party apps.

Why It Matters: Less fiddling, more doing. You can batch-edit photos on your phone, fix listing issues before going live, and zoom through orders—all without the lag. Essentially, Etsy’s removing friction so you can focus on optimizing listings, generating sales, and honing your craft.

AI-Driven Personalization & Tools

What’s Happening: Etsy is rolling out AI-powered features like personalized homepages, tailored email/push notifications, seller tools to help with alt-text and listing suggestions, plus recommendations that drive nearly double the engagement versus generic feeds  .

Why It Matters: Shoppers are getting more custom feeds; Etsy already sees more buys from personalized pages. That means your shop needs strong data signals—tagging, titles, great visuals—so you actually show up when the algorithm picks for “your kind” of item. Basically, figure out the brand you want to build and the audience that it caters to, and go after it HARD!

💡What the best sellers (you😉) are doing this week

Top sellers aren’t scrambling—they’re stacking small wins. They’re not waiting for things to slow down or for the algorithm to “figure it out.” They’re watching the updates, jumping on what’s working, and moving fast.

Here’s what that looks like in real time: testing the new photo editing tools to refresh stale listings, updating alt text for better visibility, tweaking keywords based on real-time search trends, and making sure every listing has a clear hook from the first image to the last line.

You don’t need to do it all this week—but the best shops will do something. Try something. The only way I made it work with my Etsy shop was trying things. Take 100 pictures of your products from different angles, in different lighting, and test them as the main photo for your product. If one doesn’t work, try another. Then another. This is the only way to have a chance at continued success on this platform.

Here’s my ask for you: Pick one update. Make one smart tweak. Track what happens. That’s how winning shops stay ahead—one move at a time. Onward!!
